Is it Friday? Wow, what a week! Oh I just realized as I typed the date - it is Friday the 13th. Well, I already had my bad luck for the week and don't need any today. The Lord will keep me safe!
Yesterday, when I arrived at the hospital they had already given Mom her breakfast tray and I found scrambled eggs all over the floor and wall and here she was putting them in her mouth and then spitting them and throwing them at the wastebasket. I told him I would get her a tryout with Bob Huggins (WVU basketball coach for you out of staters).
I did get her to eat a couple of bites of pancake and drink some orange juice. Lunch time she drank the mighty shake with is full of good stuff but refused the biggest part of her tray. I would say she ate about 5% of it. I did get her to eat half a Krispie Kream donut with her coffee. Jason and Kelly Weisenberger came to visit her (her gr-grandson). Jack and Wilma in the afternoon. With all the activity could not get her to take a nap. Physical Therapy took her to the hallway and had her hold on to the wooden railing and walk with assistance for a short walk. She leaned on the railing quite a bit but hey she was upright the first time in 5 days. Tired her out and she was glad to get back to her cardiac chair. The nurse made her a strawberry milk shake and I spoon fed her all of that; she refused to suck through straw. Ada (daughter in law) in the late afternoon/evening. I was getting so tired and didn't realize it at the time but my sugar was dropping. I stayed and TRIED to feed Mom her dinner. She did eat all her mashed potatoes, spit her carrots at me and handed me her piece of meatloaf back after she rolled it around in her mouth. Did drink a little coffee. Then she started this stuff of trying to get out of bed and we got into it and I just had to leave (didn't realize that my sugar drop was making me mean at the time, just felt I had to get out of there. Thank God Ada was there and she told me to go ahead and leave, as I had been there since 8 a.m.
Came home, ate my grilled chicken salad and felt fine. Will have to watch that sugar low. Yesterday was my gr-niece Katie's 15th birthday and she got a new PINK laptop with webcam so I got to Skype with her and the family. I love Skype. Thank you Tommy for setting my new computer up with Skype and thanks to Toni and family for my webcam.
I was in bed by 10 p.m. and slept well last night.
Well, it is another day and I am off to the hospital. Have a great day everyone! I love each and everyone of you. vada
